We're actually really trying to get away from the word "virtual."  It has become so loaded recently. Yes, aspects of our membership use screens in that we deliver the content through email and you find parts of the content online. This is also how we make it zero waste!! 

But the Jeff and Paige content has very little to do with a computer, other than that's the way Jeff and Paige get into your house for a brief moment on the screen. Think about how you might use your phone to connect over Facetime with grandparents… the screen is a portal for us to get into your house (seriously, we didn’t mean for that to sound creepy) but that’s about it. 

Everything that we offer has a hands-on component that happens in the real world. So for the monthly pre-recorded video activity, it's like a "how-to" video with Jeff and Paige showing you and your child what to do. It's a brief instructional video for the activity or experiment, and a way to generate some excitement and then that's it. Screen's off- you and your child are doing the thing 

The livestreamed Science and Nature Show is longer, but it's not passive at all. We are there interacting with the audience, presenting some information and guidance about the activity we're about to do all together. You and your child(ren)  are on the other side of the screen doing the hands-on activity. 

We love Mr. Rogers and have you ever seen the documentary about him? It's one of our main inspirations for continuing to create this work in the world.

In a Nutshell: Jeff and Paige strive to create content that is an antithesis to much of what we find on television (overstimulating, violent, and often meaningless). 

What we offer through our membership is grounded in the real world, in slowing down, and in an age-appropriate use of technology rather than an addictive quality.  A part of the design of the membership offerings is for parents and children to connect more through them. So unlike a tv show, where you might zone out or become separate as a result of the television being on, this is connecting to each other in real-time, with Jeff and Paige there as your guides.

We have quarterly (4 times per year) in-person offerings: Nature Hikes, Solstice celebrations (lanterns in the winter, and star-gazing in the summer), visits with our community partners to learn about science, sustainability, and nature, etc. These are small, intimate gatherings, typically 5-10 families and us! This membership is a lot of bang for your buck if you're into nature, science, and community.

2years old - 11 years old (Pre-school - 5th grade) 

The big difference here is in the amount of grown-up involvement and depth of understanding. For a two-year-old you will be more involved in the activity and for a 10-year-old you’ll be able t walk away and leave the kids to their own experimentation in a different way. As with all of Jeff and Paige’s music, live shows, and products the membership presents scientific and ecological concepts using adult language but with playful hands-on invitations so that anyone can understand what is being discussed.

 As one of our long-time fans told us, “I still sing Jeff and Paige songs to help me remember things I need to know in high school science classes!” Thanks, Morgan! That is the ultimate compliment.

 Yes! As the membership grows and as the people who join us grow too, we have lots of plans for new parts of the membership from starting your own nature club, to creating climate and sustainability plans for your own neighborhoods. We want to grow with you!

Jeff and Paige… we are lazy parents. And we believe that most other parents are too… we don’t want to have to get special equipment or create big messes on the regular. That’s why we’ve designed our activities and offerings with other lazy parents in mind! We aim to use materials that you probably already have around the house. Occasionally there is something more unusual needed and you need to plan ahead a bit. For the most part you probably have it lying around or can grab ut out of the recycle bin!

We aim to have this membership and our educational efforts for nature and science to be as planet and people friendly as possible. So unlike many other subscription kits that have cropped up in recent years we don’t send you anything in the mail!! We encourage you and your kids to get creative with the materials that you have at home, or that you can pull out of the recycling!

A: Canceling is easy, just send us an email through our support and we can take care of it for you if you are having trouble. We hope you won’t want to cancel and we get that finances change for folks over time. It’s just us over here, not a big corporate machine!!
